Regional governors and councilors have received an official message from the esteemed Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs that is full of promising opportunities.
Is NDF Recruitment 2023 Application Form Out?
For the fiscal year 2023–2024, the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) intends to add between 1400 and 1600 new members through the NDF Recruitment Planning Committee.
This information was provided in a letter sent earlier this month to regional governors and council members by the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs.
The letter states that the distribution of new members among the regions has been decided upon, with the Khomas region receiving 141 positions, the Ohangwena and Omusati regions receiving 119 positions each, and the remaining 11 regions receiving 111 positions each.
Marginalized communities are given slots as well, and the regional governors are kindly asked to deliver all application forms from these communities after the deadline to the deputy minister of marginalized communities’ office in Windhoek, according to the letter.
Namibian Defence Force Online Application Update
Defence Executive Director Wilhemina Shivute announced that the Namibian Defence Force will again recruit between 1400 and 1600 trainees.
This was stated by the director in a letter to regional governors dated 2 June 2023 that was seen by this newspaper.
Shivute informed the governors that the Namibian Defence Force Recruitment Planning Committee (NDF RPC) would be used to bring in 1 400 to 1 600 new personnel.
All 14 regions will be under the control of the NDF RPC.
“The regional allocation of members are Khomas (141), Ohangwena (199), Omusati (199) and all the other remaining 11 regions (111),” she stated.
Namibian Defence Force Recruitment Portal
The Namibian Defence Force Recruitment Portal 2023 remains the same. To apply for a position, check out the NDF official portal at www.recruitment.psc.gov.ng. Also, note that the NDF portal is currently opened, and it is advised that you apply before the closing date. To this effect, the application for the NDF recruitment exercise is currently ongoing.
General Requirements for 2023 NDF Recruitment
Make sure you meet the requirements for NDF recruitment before you start the application process. The prerequisites are as follows:
- You must be a citizen of Namibia.
- Between the ages of 18 and 25, you must be.
- You must possess a Grade 12 diploma.
- To serve in the military, you must be in good health.
- Your criminal history must be clean.
- You must be at least the required weight and height.
You can continue with the application process if you satisfy all the aforementioned requirements.

Step 1: Obtain the application form
The NDF recruitment application form is available at all NDF Recruitment Offices across the nation, as well as at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Windhoek. Step 2: Fill in the application form
Once you have the application form, you must accurately and completely fill it out. List your name, contact information, educational background, and employment history. You must also include the contact information for two referees and your next of kin.
Step 3: Submit the application form
You must deliver the application to the nearby NDF Recruitment Office after completing it. Make sure to include all necessary paperwork, such as certified copies of your identity document, medical certificate, and grade 12 certificates.
Step 4: Wait for the response
You will have to wait for a response from the NDF Recruitment Office after submitting your application. If your application is accepted, you will receive an invitation to take additional exams and interviews.

- When applying, candidates should make it clear if they are officer cadets or other ranks.
- A candidate cannot apply for officer cadets and other ranks at the same time.
