UPDF Recruitment 2024: There are procedures to adopt while applying for the ongoing Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) recruitment exercise. This procedure remains the only accepted method for a successful application.

The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has now announced further recruitment into the UPDF in addition to the just concluded recruitment of S.4 leavers. Age limit 18–28 years.

Official Update on UPDF Recruitment
The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) will commence a massive recruitment of 9,627 youth between the ages of 18 to 22 in an exercise commencing on July 1st and closes on July 14th, 2024. Please note that the entire application process will span 56 days, according to UPDF management.
NOTE: There has been a positive response to the SCIENTIST recruitment exercise for 2024. Secondly, the portal is finally closed as any submission of applications might not be processed.
Criteria for UPDF Selection
- Citizenship: MUST be a Ugandan citizen and the application must come with an evidence of an original National Identity Card.
- Medical: qualified applicants must be physically fit and ready to undergo fitness tests (medical and body).
- Age: MUST be an adult, both male or female shouldn’t be under 18 and above 22 years.
- Education Standard: Academic qualification strictly of S.4 (UCE) who finished in the year 2020 – 2023 and MUST have passed English and Mathematics.
- Qualified applicants must have their application letters duly signed either by one of the following; (LC I, LC II and LC III chairpersons, GISO or DISO and RDC).
- Aspirants MUST be disciplined and have no criminal record.

In line to recruit a total of 9,627 eligible youth, qualified aspirants must follow every process and the application submission must be through the UPDF official portal. Ensure you go through the application requirements before commencing the recruitment exercise.

- Create an account with your active email address
- Click on Careers, fill your bio-data
- Upload necessary documents/credentials
- Proofread your information, and submit
- Finally, download your application letter once the application form is successfully submitted.
