Key Updates in the 2025 Model Y:
- Design Enhancements: The exterior showcases a Cybertruck-inspired front light bar and a full-width LED light bar at the rear, along with refined bodywork for improved aerodynamics.
- Performance Improvements: The Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) model now offers a WLTP-certified range of 466 km, an 11 km increase from the previous version, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, a full second quicker than before. The Long Range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant boasts a range of 551 km, up by 18 km, and achieves 0-100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds.
- Interior Upgrades: New ventilated front seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen for rear passengers, a larger 15.4-inch central touchscreen, and power-reclining rear seats enhance comfort and convenience.
Australian Pricing:
- 2025 Model Y RWD: Priced at $63,400 (an increase of $7,500).
- 2025 Model Y Long Range AWD: Priced at $73,400 (an increase of $3,500).
These price adjustments reflect the comprehensive upgrades incorporated into the new model.
Deliveries in Australia are scheduled to commence in May 2025. Tesla showrooms across major Australian cities will have display models available in the weeks leading up to the launch.

Tesla has unveiled a redesigned Model Y, codenamed “Juniper,” in China and select Asia-Pacific markets, with deliveries starting in March 2025. This marks the most significant update since its 2020 launch.
Key Features of the Redesigned Model Y:
- Exterior Enhancements: The vehicle boasts a sleeker front design with a streamlined nose and a thin light bar across the hood. The rear features a full-width light strip, giving it a modern look.
- Interior Upgrades: Inside, there’s a configurable ambient light strip running along the cabin, a new touchscreen for rear passengers, and improvements like powered rear seats and enhanced suspension for a more comfortable ride.
- Performance and Range: The rear-wheel-drive version is priced at approximately $35,935, offering a range of 368 miles, while the long-range version, around $41,390, provides 446 miles. Both versions maintain a top speed of 124 mph and support charging speeds up to 250kW.
Notably, this redesign reintroduces a physical turn signal stalk, addressing feedback from users who preferred it over the capacitive buttons used in recent models.
As of now, the redesigned Model Y is not available in the U.S. or Europe. However, production has begun in Shanghai, and there is potential for availability in other markets in the coming months.
